Saturday May 30

Went to the Heart for Africa walk this morning and got our shirts.  I intended to walk but 10 minutes before it started the skies opened up and it started pouring.  I went home and walked on  my treadmill.

Wanted to let you know that Ezekiel from Mozambique was at church this evening.  He is viisting to attend conference in Columbia with Ron and talk about all of the progress in Mozmbique.  I sought him out after service (he was with Steve and Easy) and introduced myself to him as your mother.  Steve and Easy had told him about you being in Kenya and he was very interested to hear what you were doing.  He gave me a hug to pass on to you and wanted to let you know that he will be praying for you.

Ran into DeeDee at Kohls and had a nice long talk.  Mallory is getting married next May (I'm sure you know this).  DeeDee is praying for you too.  She ask me if Kyle is Amy Jones nephew?  I didn't know...is he?

I love you lots and miss you very much...MOM :)

Friday 5/29

I thought I would sit down and write to you tonight in case you would be getting on your email on Saturday (it is Friday night at 9 for me but of course I don’t know what time or day it is for you???).  Anyway I am writing.  I am missing you very much but am also praying/hoping that you are having an awesome time.

Dad is doing well in Louisiana.  He got back from Green Bay on Monday night and has been working very long days.  He did get in a game of golf with some of the guys from the job.  Fern’s surgery went very well and she is feeling a lot less pain.  They have determined that she can live there without the 100% assistance as long as we set someone up to give her medication.  Dad set it up with a service for only $75.00 per month!  So things are good with all of that right now…I know it is a big load off of your dad’s mind.

Kevin got moved into his townhouse and he says it is really nice.  I think he is excited to have something so new/nice.  He is ½ done with his class already and said that it hasn’t been too bad.  He ended up getting 3-B’s and 1-D…unfortunately the D was in one of his criminal justice classes….he says that’s okay but I’m not sure.

I had a really nice time in DC with the girls and the Froberg boys.  All of the boys are great but that Braeden is a real cutie…and quite the jokester.  He really understands humor and sarcasm…it’s scary!  Why did the chicken cross the playground?  To get to the other SLIDE….get it?  That was one of Braedens. We just shopped and goofed around.  I watched Bolt (very cute) and we went to see Night at the Museum 2…it was fun.  I had to go to Cinc. for a 3 hour meeting with my boss and others which was a real waste of time but whatever.  Nick and Wendy’s wedding was tonight.  It was very nice and the ceremony made me cry.  She had 10 attendants, Nick had 11 and they had 4 flower girls.  Of course there were 8 parents/stepparents also…Whew – it was huge.  I didn’t go to the reception because I didn’t want to go alone.  I saw Sherry at the wedding and talked with her for a bit…she told me about the mix-up with Kyle’s jeep…strange.  I ran into Allie and Haylee.  You forgot to tell me that Haylee broke it off with Terry…YEAH!  She seemed good about all of it.  I saw Izzy and she said she has been praying for you…I told her I really missed you and she said she would come by to visit…I hope she does.

Well sweetheart that is about all that has happened this week.  I am anxious to hear from you.  Dad got an email that everyone had gotten there safely but I didn’t get one…I am going to write them and ask them to add me to the list.  Give Kyle a hug for the Schenkelbergs.  Take care of yourself.

Our new family blog

Tonight Jen set up a family blog for me so that I could blog while she is in Kenya.  I plan to share every detail of my days with her while she is gone.  It will be thrilling for Jen!
